So I might have a new addiction...which I am trying to peer pressure others to join ... S.C.R.A.B.U.L.O.U.S! It all started on Wednesday when friends from class, Katie and Nicole were playing Scrabulous through facebook. I enjoy the odd application on facebook, such as quotes from fav tv shows...however I tend to get on and get off facebook as fast as I can!! but I am a wee bit hooked and am excited when I go online and see it's my turn to create a word. Josie, Heather, Katie and Steph are my fav opponents as they are quick to the punch! Now facebook needs to somehow get Cranium online too...or not!

Why God Made Little Boys
Why God Made Little Boys
God made a world out of his dreams
Of wondrous mountains, oceans and streams,
Prairies and plains and wooded land,
Then paused and thought,
"I need someone to stand
On top of the mountains, to conquer the seas,
Explore the plains and climb the trees
Someone to start out small and grow,
Sturdy, strong like a tree and so...
He created boys, full of spirit and fun,
With dirty faces, banged up chins
With courageous hearts and boyish grins."
When He had completed the task He'd begun
He secretly said "That's a job well done."
...and to the future girls that will be coming into our lives (miss Rice-Swing) here is the poem that I remember well.
Why God Made Little GirlsGod made the world with its towering trees,
majestic mountains and restless seas
then paused and said, "It needs one more thing."
Someone to laugh and dance and sing,
to walk in the woods and gather flowers,
to commune with nature in quiet hours.
So God made little girls with laughing eyes and bouncing curls,
with joyful hearts, and beautiful smiles, enchanting ways and feminine wiles.
And when He'd completed the task He'd begun,
He was pleased and proud of the job He'd done.

Heath Ledger
Shocking and very very sad! Heath Ledger passed away today! My heart goes out to his friends and family!http://www.cnn.com/
NEW YORK (CNN) -- Actor Heath Ledger was found dead Tuesday of a possible drug overdose in a Lower Manhattan apartment, the New York Police Department said. The Academy Award nominated actor was 28. "Pills were found in the vicinity of the bed," police spokesman Paul Browne told CNN. "This is being looked at as a possible overdose, but that is not confirmed yet." The pills
appeared to be over-the-counter sleeping medication, said police spokeswoman Barbara Chen. Ledger was unresponsive when he was found by a housekeeper who had gone to wake him for an appointment with a masseuse in the Soho apartment, Browne said. The apartment is owned by the actress Mary-Kate Olsen, The New York Times reported. Ledger was declared dead at about 3:30 p.m., Browne said.
Watch complete coverage of the sudden death of actor Heath Ledger. Tonight, 11 ET/
PT on Headline NewsIn 2005, the actor played Ennis Del Mar in "Brokeback Mountain," about two cowboys who had a secret relationship. The role earned him the Oscar nomination. Ledger was born in Perth, Australia. He has a young daughter with actress Michelle Williams, his co-star in "Brokeback Mountain." "He was just so respected in the industry," said Kim Serafin, senior editor of In Touch Weekly. "It's just horribly tragic. He was just a fine actor and a good person, so this is horribly sad and very unexpected." Ledger was always focused on his career, Serafin said. Some of his other film credits also include "A Knight's Tale" in 2001 and "The Four Feathers" in 2002.
I will always remember watching 10 Things I Hate About You and thinking...this guy is coool! so sad :(

My date with Grafton
One of my favourite streets in the world is Grafton Street; the main street in Dublin. I tend to venture to Grafton every day to either go shopping, enjoy some lunch, have some chai tea at Butlers, people watch and or just to walk around for something to do. This street has a "all man for himself" kind of approach in that people will take you out if you are just 1cm in their way...I have learnt it the hard way...and have been pushed around many a times (also seems to be the busiest street I have ever seen!!). I am getting pretty good at dodging people and steering clea
r however when I seem to want to take charge I pull my cell phone out, put my head down and walk my own path (doesn't always work though). Any who so as I was saying this is the best street one could ask for! My fav stores are: Brown Thomas & BT2 (Ireland Holts...though it is only a museum for me), Office (shoes), Oasis (clothes), Dublin Rocks (diamonds..ha!), Butlers Chocolate (for my Chai's), Cafe Bar Deli (restaurant), Avoca (nik naks), Powers Court (food & piano music) and drum roll please TopShop (for everything)! For all of you with Ireland on your list of places to go I recommend Grafton Street to be your first stop.ps. my mom sent me some super cute pics of Mitchell...oh man he is getting even cuter!
pps. notice the Canada flag over the entrace of Brown Thomas...oh ya!

Spears
UPDATE: (MTV.UK said that Britney and her man were playing a practical joke on the media...well then)
When scoping out Teddy&Moo.com this morning, I came across this picture! Britney and her paparazzi (only in it for free pics and money) boyfriend checking out preggo tests. Why oh why?! Her list just keeps getting longer...she just needs to pack a bag, head to a remote posh island, read lots of books, do some yoga or meditation or something, relax on a beach and get out of the spot light for a minimum of a year! JT where are you?
Ps. Happy Birthday to Katie and Lindsay!

Thursday: PARTLY SUNNY WITH SHOWERS 5-9°C

My Wish
To my future niece or nephew (who I will be meeting any day now)~ This is my wish to you..lyrics by my fav Rascal Flatts (one must sing the song while reading):
I hope the days come easy and the moments pass slow,
and each road leads you where you want to go,
and if you're faced with a choice, and you have to choose,
I hope you choose the one that means the most to you.
and if one door opens to another door closed,
I hope you keep on walkin' 'til you find the window,
if it's cold outside,
show the world the warmth of your smile,
but more than anything, more than anything,
My wish, for you, is that this life becomes all that you want it to,
your dreams stay big, your worries stay small,
You never need to carry more than you can hold,
and while you're out there getting where you're getting to,
I hope you know somebody loves you, and wants the same things too,
Yeah, this, is my wish.
I hope you never look back, but ya never forget,
all the ones who love you, in the place you left,
I hope you always forgive, and you never regret,
and you help somebody every chance you get,
Oh, you find God's grace, in every mistake,
and always give more then you take.
But more than anything, Yeah, and more than anything,
My wish, for you, is that this life becomes all that you want it to,
your dreams stay big, and your worries stay small,
You never need to carry more than you can hold,
and while you're out there getting where you're getting to,
I hope you know somebody loves you, and wants the same things too,
Yeah, this, is my wish.

Eat Pray Love
At this moment I am reading "Eat Pray Love" by Elizabeth Gilbert. (One woman's search for everything across Italy, India and Indonesia). The book is divided into three parts, each representing 4 months of Liz's experience in one of three countries. I have just finished "eat" where Liz fully immersed herself in Italy and what the culture as to offer...it was interesting to see Italy through the eyes of someone else and what they remembered about their moments. Just before putting the book down to take a break from reading and the sun, I thought I would read a couple pages of her first few days in India...and I can tell already this may be my favourite part of the book (I think its because I have already been to Italy and Indonesia...so to learn about India, a place I have always wanted to go to, is very intriguing...also because India seems to be the place where Yoga was born) Here is how a yoga instructor from India defines Yoga to Liz as (it totally hit home for me). Yoga is the effort to experience one's divinity personally and then to hold on to that experience forever. Yoga is about self mastery and the dedicated effort to haul your attention away from your endless brooding over the past and your nonstop worrying about the future so that you can seek, instead, a place of eternal presence from which you may regard yourself and your surroundings with poise. Only from that point of even-mindedness will the true nature of the world (and yourself) be revealed to you. (page 122....also goes into more detail). While reading that section I knew I had to share it with my friends..those who do practice yoga and those who don't but may be intrigued. Namaste ;)

Brookdale
So today was my last day of my placement at Brookdale P.S. For the past semester I have been observing and helping out with a grade 1/2 split class...and let me tell you they are the cutest bunch of kids! It seems so long ago when I first walked into the classroom and introduced myself. I wasn't really sure what to expect but as my first day went on and I felt genuinely welcomed, I knew that it was going to be a great experience. Of course there were some ups and downs and the kids definitely could challenge me...but once they knew I could get them all 'out' in dodgeball and was able to help them create all their art projects that I was 'ok' to stick around! Today they all presented me with hand made cards and told me how much I was going to be missed! Some even said that I had to come back when I was done school to be their teacher next year. So cute! At times like today (& actually most days) I am over joyed with the decision I made to become a teacher!
Dear: Mrs Burlein, Edward, Quinn, Abby, Emma, Koby, Brandon, Ryne, Jinisha, Katherine, Sarah, Spencer, Dyvia, Rachel, Bethany, Cleo, Kelson, & Jessica,
Thank you for the memories!
xo Miss Bryce
ps. Yesterday was my dad's birthday! happy birthday dad! xo
