Mitchell on the cover of the Hamilton Spectator

...yet they think he is 6! (3rd Birthday is January 6th). What a cutie!

A fabulous month

Can't believe September is coming to an end! What a month it has been! I have been trying to sit down this past month to reflect and to share about September's this n thats but I have been crazy these past few weeks and this weekend really proved to show me how run down my body actually was (ie. falling asleep less than half way through Wall Street...oops...and anytime my body hit a couch, chair or bed). So nows the time...I`m in Oakville for the night, but find myself in an empty house (Mom on her way home from tdot and boys out golfing in the rain)...with Starbucks in hand, this is why I thought September was fabulous!!
1. One of my best friends Kim got married to her love Rich - September 11th. It was such a memorable weekend and one I will never forget. Rehearsal din at Seasons, our personally selected yellow dresses, the best wedding house one could ever dream of, the gorgeous scenery, the lovely speeches, the dance floor, poutine bar, boys becoming bff`s (ha), spending a weekend with some of my favourite ladies (I miss you guys!!!) and watching Kim and Rich start the next chapter in their lives! Thank you for including me in your special day! It meant everything to me! xo
2. Josie`s baby shower on September 12th, followed by Josie and Dave having the most precious handsome little boy on Sept 13th - Anthony David Agro. So special! You are both going to make such amazing parents! I can`t wait to watch lil`Tony grow up to become a stellar football player!!
3. A preggers announcement - Holla!!! (ps. not me - just an fyi - in case there is some confusion)
4. Chris and I have settled in....and he has been such a gracious roomie! I would think it would be difficult to have someone move into your space and want to make it their own as well. But Chris has been so kind and has allowed me to add some personal touches. It is definitely starting to feel like my own place too. We have painted most of it by now, waiting on new blinds...but in 2 weeks we are going to start having y`all for dinner parties!
5. I have come to the realization that I was meant to be a teacher....or perhaps maybe not meant to be one...but I love it! I am still trying to wrap my head around many different concepts and the ins and outs of what needs to be accomplished. But I truly enjoy working with students and the every day trials and tribulations! I can`t get over how exhausting the job can be, but I do love it and know I made the right choice.
6. I almost forgot....Labour day weekend Chris and I went to see Rascal Flatts! Amazing! They played all their greatest hits as they were celebrating 10 years. I belted out every tune and didn`t want it to ever end!
Here`s to hoping October gives September a run for its money.

September has officially arrived

Well it's September first (already!) and LOTS have happened...mostly I am still trying to chase after my head that fell off a week or so ago after realizing how much I had (still have) to prepare for school and for my big move...but it's official my new home is McMurrich street :) booya! Chris and I are 'roomies'! I don't think he realized how much stuff I actually had in my bedroom, but none the less we have managed to share his space just perfectly. sigh.
For the past 2 weeks I have not only been moving in...I have been setting up my one and only first classroom! I am amazed about how much money one can spend doing this, but I am constantly reminded that as a first year teacher it's a must. Anywho I am almost ready for my 38 new students but am very nervous/excited about the unknown and the school year ahead.
ps. Rascal Flatts on Sunday. holla!
