Happy New Years Eve!

So I have been sort of living the dream...and each new day I get more and more comfortable in this lifestyle. It's also nice that people from home have made there way into Naples! ... however, I totally know that this cushy bubble will pop and in no time I will be back in the snow wishing I was either on the beach or going for a bike ride. One day I hope to find myself living in the sunshine; it just doesn't get better than this!

May you always have enough happiness to keep you sweet; enough trials to keep you strong; enough success to keep you eager; enough faith to give you courage; and enough determination to make each day a good day!

Tonight the clan is heading into old Naples for a catered affair; but I wanted to wish everyone a happy new years bash...and a 2009 filled with possibilities and happiness!

There will come a time when you believe everything is finished; that will be the beginning!

This morning as I attempted to wake up I felt a desperate need to stay in my sleep coma and get up when my body allowed me to! These last couple weeks I felt as if I was and am in super over drive, definitely testing myself physically...and though I love this new chapter in my life it's nice to have a morning to myself and to prepare myself slowly for the day.

Jodie and Mitchell left for home yesterday...it was great to have them here and to celebrate Christmas with them - we are all constantly mesmerized by Mitchell and can't help but to sit in silence and watch him. It's just so amazing how fast Mitchell is growing, and the new things he learns to do everyday! He will be 1 yrs old on January 6th! So surreal! Alright time to make some tea to wake myself up! Hope everyone had a very merry christmas!

Christmas in Florida

2nd weekend and counting! I could totally get use to this life style! Katie and I have had a great week in Naples...lots of laughs, chats, wine, shopping, champagne, tanning and movies...a perfect end to teachers college, and I could do it all again. Oh wait I am going to be (will be here until the 5th!) After getting a blessing from the snow gods, Katie was able to change her flight and stay an extra day; which was nice as she got to meet and spend time with Jodie, Mitchell and my
Dad who all arrived yesterday (planes and automobiles). This week as luck would have it, I also fully jumped into triathlon training...eesh! The group I train with just so happen to all be in Naples, FLA. So my bike made its way here, and I have been biking, swimming and running most days. I have never trained this hard, and though I have always thought I could handle my own, these tri people are kicking my butt! Tomorrow morning they have me joining their crew and we are biking a total of 90km. oh my gosh! Anywho as I might be in a coma tomorrow night, I will muster enough energy to welcome my mom and brother as they will be arriving from the wintery north to join us in amazing Mediterra!

"Good afternoon class..."

Today marked my last day of teacher's college! Amazing! It's been quite an experience and I have truly enjoyed all my placements and the friends I have met...but I am so ready to take on my own classroom. Though I know this will be a long process to get to that point, I am excited and blessed to have made the decision to become a teacher!
Signing off for now: Miss Bryce!
ps. only teacher pic i could find! ha!

make time to play

Go play. Yes, take a break and go play. When your head starts to pound and your back starts to ache, stop. Do something you want to do. Do something that feels good, feels fun. Leave your worries behind. Put them in a box, then close it and go play.
We make sure that our children take time for recess every day. But we forget that we need recess, too. The lingering threads of work and worry can tie us to tasks done and undone. They can block our connection to joy, creativity, and the vital life-giving force that courses through us all.
We no longer need to slump with tension and fatigue. It isn't necessary and it doesn't help a thing. Most often, it hurts. Your fatigue may be from lack of play as much as lack of sleep. You might begin to see that you don't need a rest, a nap, or more vitamin C. You need to play.
Play as much as you can. Find time - take time - to play.
It may give you the energy you need.
-Journey to the Heart

god bless the broken road

On the radio today one of my most favourite Christmas songs was playing - Mary Did You Know sang by Kenny Rogers and Wyonna Judd (if you havent heard it check out youtube to listen). Anywho as I was going to share it with you folks I came across a song that everytime I listen to it, it gives me chills. I just love it and wanted everyone to listen - "God Bless the Broken Road".
I hope everyone is having a great week...this week marks my final week of teachers college, and also a week with much to do.

Wonderful World-Sam Cooke (1960)

I just heard this song in Starbucks after school today...and for some reason it made me smile. Love should be that easy.

Team Brit

She's making her come back...Britney Spears is doing the rounds and is showing she is here to stay and turn her life around! (Though who really thought she left?...baby steps of course) As I have always said I am game for a come back and I welcome what Britney is bringing to the stage. Thought she looked fab for her pre-taping of the Rockefeller lighting segment. A nice black tailored jacket with a bit of flair. Previously we would have seen some sort of nappy faux fur with some sort of message displayed across her chest. Tune in tonight on NBC to see Britney glammed up right.
Ps. Next week is my last week of Teacher's college and Katie and I will be heading to Florida on Saturday! Amazing!
