i'm just saying

Congratulations to the Women's Canadian hockey team who scored an Olympic gold medal this evening beating out our friendly US neighbours! May I also just put this out there....Women are clearly the pants in this Olympic relationship. Of the 16 Canadian medals won thus far, 13 have been won by a female. 6/8 Gold, 5/6 Silver, and dum da da dum 2/2 Bronze medals! Holla! Reminds me of one of my fav Nike commercials from way back when...."what ever you can do I can do better..." ;)
ps. Went to yoga after teaching today.... you all might have to get ready as I was introduced to a new book, "Meditations from the Mat" that I of course will be sharing some daily excerpts from....so stay tuned! Namaste and good night! Go Canada Go!

oops

So today I only worked a half day....but going to be a busy week ahead which is nice...anywho that being said I knew today was a day that I could make my way to Ikea and by a new duvet cover. Please note: yes I am not supose to be buying anything new, BUT, Heather can stand up for me, and say that I do need a new duvet cover, my present one has seen better days... Anywho as I was quickly in the bedding section I picked up a nice cover and quickly followed the arrows to the finish line. However, I might have gotten stuck in the picture section....here is the new wall picture that is taking up half of my room at the moment but that will be my new decoration piece for when I move out. I do have some time to really think about it, and if i should return it....but the price was unheard of for a piece that is 55" by 40". oh dear! I just can't help it when it comes to pictures of Paris. J'adore. ps. I will be including these 2 purchases into my budget and will have to live off a little less over the next couple weeks....no problemo!

runners - yeah we're different

This morning with my group we tackled a 31.5 km run...thank god this time around it was a flatter run and I didn't feel as if i was running up ski hills. Ran ourselves from Oakville, to PC, to LP back home. I always love running through my old neighbourhood...good times! what a great place to grow up. Well I was a late joiner (grade 7), but non the less. Anywho 2 friends I was running with were talking about the below photos, and I thought I would check them out online. They kill me...too funny! Those of you who run, I'm sure you can relate to some shots, or all...and those of you who don't...yes we are strange! But there is nothing like the runners high! As I say it's a love hate relationship...best part is getting out Sunday morning and experiencing the quietness and only see runners on the road...also such an amazing feeling to say done and done...however, I do miss my Saturday nights out on the town. After April 19th I am letting 'er loose!
ps. Rooms are booked in Boston! We are staying at the Waterside Westin! So for any of you who still want to join I would love to have you there! xo

There comes a time in life when you have to let go of all the pointless drama & the people who create it & surround yourself with people who make you laugh so hard that you forget the bad and focus solely on the good. After all life is too short to be anything but happy.

a perfect view

I find I am constantly wondering through different strangers (or friends of friends of friends) blogs looking for pictures, for inspirational thoughts, stories I can relate to or just to see what someone else has to say. It's crazy to think how alike you feel you are with someone you don't even know! I've come across some favourite blogs of people I am sure if we finally met we would be instant best friends?!? who knows! I came across this picture on Things She Loves and instantly it made me smile. Growing up my child hood dream was to own a vintage vw bug...and because of realities it never ended up happening, but I always said to myself one day!...but I think it's because this is the view I needed....or maybe always imagined myself to have on a daily basis....and the fact that there is a starbucks in the drivers cup holder...well it had me at hello ;) It's a strange feeling to relive a memory through a photo and to ask yourself why you let it go. A picture's worth a thousand words.
ps. Check out page 74 of this months Maxim magazine - Team Facial: Kevin and Dave are front and centre watching the Beer Pong tournie they were part of in Vegas over new years.
pps. my life doesn't revolve around starbucks...i promise. ha!
ppps. Happy 30th Birthday to Chris and Jen! Wish I could have been there to celebrate! Miss you both lots and lots and lots! When are you coming home?!? xo

with glowing hearts

Long overdue post...so here goes....what a spectacular feeling to have the 2010 Olympics right here in Canada! Just wish I had some hookups and could have made it over to vancouver to take part in the action...but none the less I will cheer from the other side of the country and smile with pride as the Canadians bring home the medals! I truly enjoyed watching the opening ceremonies, though have to say wasn't too pleased about their choice of the opening act - how are we ever going to shake the stereotype of us Canadians all living in igloos and driving our dog sleds around...hmmm. Is that what Canada is all about? I'm glad that buddy with the beard (Shane Koyczan) said a fab speech about what a Canadian truly is! "we are the true north - strong and free - and what's more - is that we didn't just say it - we made it be." great speech eh? I also loved loved loved when Sarah Mclachlan sang, and KD Lang belted out one of my favourite songs: Hellelujah. what a great come back. I thought the skiiers and boarders that danced along the fabric mountain was pretty cool, and the 3D sea life that changed my views forever of floor projection presentations was amazing...I loved that Nancy Greene and Wayne Gretzky were 2 of the last torch carriers and most of all I again love that the 2010 Winter Olympics is being held in Canada!
ps. Medal count is at 6! yay!
pps. Though I have never been one to watch sports on tv...yes i know that's strange...but I can't help but find myself turning on the tv more often to see what Olympic sport is being televised! Saw the half pipe session last night - Shaun White is crazy good!

starting young ;)

buble performs

Was watching Ellen yesterday, and Michael Buble was preforming one of his new songs...and yes I know that it plays over and over...but what a peaceful song!

I Just Haven't Met You Yet
I'm Not Surprised
Not Everything Lasts
I've Broken My Heart So Many Times,
I Stop Keeping Track.
Talk Myself In
I Talk Myself Out
I Get All Worked Up
And Then I Let Myself Down.

I Tried So Very Hard Not To Loose It
I Came Up With A Million Excuses
I Thought I Thought Of Every Possibility
And I Know Someday That It'll All Turn Out
You'll Make Me Work So We Can Work To Work It Out
And I Promise You Kid That I'll Give So Much More Than I Get
I Just Haven't Met You Yet

Mmmmm ....
I Might Have To Wait
I'll Never Give Up
I Guess It's Half Timing
And The Other Half's Luck
Wherever You Are Whenever It's Right
You Come Out Of NowhereAnd Into My Life

And I Know That We Can Be So Amazing
And Baby Your Love Is Gonna Change Me
And Now I Can See Every Possibility
Mmmmm ......

And Somehow I Know That It Will All Turn Out
And You'll Make Me Work So We Can Work To Work It Out
And I Promise You Kid I'll Give So Much More Than I Get
I Just Haven't Met You Yet

They Say All's Fair
And In Love And War
But I Won't Need To Fight It
We'll Get It Right
And We'll Be United

And I Know That We Can Be So Amazing
And Being In Your Life Is Gonna Change Me
And Now I Can See Every Single Possibility
Mmmm .....

And Someday I Know It'll All Turn Out
And I'll Work To Work It Out
Promise You Kid I'll Give More Than I Get
Than I Get Than I Get Than I Get
Oh You Know It'll All Turn Out
And You'll Make Me Work So We Can Work To Work It Out
And I Promise You Kid To Give So Much More Than I Get
Yeah I Just Haven't Met You Yet
I Just Haven't Met You Yet
Oh Promise You Kid To Give So Much More Than I Get
I Said Love Love Love Love Love Love Love .....
I Just Haven't Met You Yet Love Love Love .....
I Just Haven't Met You Yet

Peaks

So this weekend we loaded up the cars and made our way to Collingwood to relive our childhood years and take advantage of Kevin's membership. To celebrate my mom's bday the group of us rented a condo at Cranberry resorts...hit the Swiss Alporn for din and woke up Saturday morn to be a guest for the first time at Georgian Peaks Ski Club. In 1988 my parents joined the Peaks, and I had the amazing opportunity to spend every weekend skiing, racing, snowmobiling, eventually snowboarding, having fun with friends, and of course partying up north for 10plus years. Anywho it was a great way to grow up, and this weekend we got to catch a glimpse of how my parents experience was much different then ours...ha! I also got to catch up with some old friends I haven't seen in awhile...not since racing days...and some things never change....and of course instead of grinding it out until the last ride, we spent our time catching up in the Peaks bar, where my parents made their presence years ago. oh dear! One day soon I hope to join Kev and become a member again of the Peaks. member number 377 please! Thanks to B&B for a great weekend xo
ps. Super Bowl half time show...4/10
pps. of course I am getting sick again (yes I should live in a bubble) and missed my long run this morning. so frustrating! argh!

Product Endorsement #6

So over the Christmas holidays I scored myself a sweet pair of running head phones. Every winter season I struggle to keep my ipod headphones in my ears, as I guess in the summer the heat keeps them nice and snug. This winter knowing I was going to be in training mode yet again, I knew I had to do something about finding a great pair. Over the years of pre-ipod days, I tried them all, even the ones with a full out radio in the ears..antennae and all. eesh! I can't imagine running around like that now a days. ha! oh man I am aging myself. Anywho I have also tried all running headphones that so called wrap around your ears...but they always seemed to fail me in some way or another. Soooo drum roll please, while Chris and I were both at the Nike store in FLA, a white light shone on the Nike Vapors and I knew these might just be the best earphones yet....and dum da da dum....they are!! I love them! Doesn't even feel as if you are wearing anything as you pound a way at the pavement! Soo for all of youze out there who are looking for a new set check out: Nike Vapors $30 price point...but well worth it!
ps. going to Collingwood tomorrow to spend the weekend at the Cranberry Resorts and skiing at the Peaks! holla

Grammys run down

Ah the good ol grammys. Favourite moments of the night: loved loved loved when Elton John came out and performed with Lady 'crazy' G. They performed my all time fav song...though I'm still questioning the arms coming out of the piano and the dirty faces...I did love the shades and their voices working together, so of course give the opening act a 5. Next up, also thought Pink's performance was top notch. So peaceful. She is a true performer and quite the athletic gal! Of course who could not have loved the Michael Jackson tribute song...especially the performers that were chosen...I just wished someone would have told me prior to that I should have kept my 3D shades from Avatar on the weekend. I love when award shows incorporate the 'greats'...and though I know you all have mixed reviews, it's always nice to see Celine Dion belt out some cords - Jennifer Hudson is also cray good. Other mentionable moments: my new fav band Lady Antebellum was able to share their music. Definitely a must download album. I saw them open up for Keith Urban in concert and they were fabulous...and looking forward to radio stations playing more of their tunes. Best dressed of the night goes to: Sheryl Crow. Though the picture doesn't do her justice, when she walked up on stage I was in dress, hair and accessory envy - also shoulder envy. Anywho was a great award show...sorry if you feel I missed something...I had some of it PVR'ed and of course was happy when I could fast forward through Jamie Foxx (most overrated fella)...and rewind on my fav spots. Beyonce...always great!
ps. Happy Birthday to my mom, who celebrated her big day on Saturday! love you! Looking forward to seeing you and everyone on Wednesday and to head up north for the weekend!
pps. off to hot yoga I go
ppps. I did miss something: though I enjoy the odd Taylor Swift song...and do believe she should win the odd award, I don't feel it is her time yet to win a Grammy. Best album of the year...come on? ok peace out!
