Would those of you who say it can't be done stop bothering those of us who are doing it!
At my desk at work I was given a Mosaic daily calendar that has inspirational quotes for each day (very suiting). One of my daily routines is to come into work, sit down take a deep breath (Yoga nut, I know) and tear away yesterdays quote to find a new one in it's place...and today was the quote mentioned above. I just thought it was a very interesting quote...and you can all read into it as much as you want as that's what quotes are for.

Just around the corner

Risk More than others think safe. Care more than others think is wise. Dream more than others think is practical. Expect more than others think is possible. Claude T. Bissell
This weekend I headed up to the cottage...(be prepared as I will be saying that for most of the summer...I hope) I realize every Sunday night how lucky I am to have the opportunity to head to Muskoka for the weekends. I get to have a mini-vacation every 5 days, which truly lets me unwind and exhale before Monday starts again. This weekend Jodie and I headed for a 2 hour super hilly bike ride to Windemere and back, and then decided to watch movies and relax for the rest of the day on Saturday and because of the rain the movie watching continued on to Sunday.
I know I have said this before, as I tend to repeat things I believe in and totally appreciate, but everyone should go out and purchase a road bike. There is nothing in the world like riding for hours and challenging yourself to the fullest. I grew up playing competitive sports but now that I am older (eeek) I no longer have the opportunity to play 10 sports at one time and to fully challenge myself on a daily basis (even though I try to as much as I can)...however the day I purchased my road bike, a little of what I was missing came back..road biking challenges you: there is no way around it but to get through those hills, to push your legs and lungs that one extra inch and to continue on your route until you have crossed the finish line (home)! I love it! My goal for the summer is to enter into a road bike race, and join the world of experienced bikers. That has been added to my list of goals (My Mentor/Career coach would be proud..ha!)
Ps.June 15th is just around the corner :)
Pps. Uncle Bill, my thoughts are with you! xo

Twenty Seven

I have never been a fan of celebrating my birthday, I think it's because I don't like attention focused soley on me....however what I love about Birthday's is friends or family who you may not have spoken to in awhile or friends that you see every day send a nice card, email or phone call and you get to catch up on life and the good things that are happening to one another. It's on your birthday that you know who will always be there for you. “Good friends are like stars. You don’t always see them, but you know they’re always there!” Thank you to all of those who sent your wishes! My heart thanks you!...I might have to run a little more this week though seeing as I had 3 cakes...but so well worth it! xo

Happy Mother's Day

I went to Yoga this morning, and the instructor (Mike) had mentioned something that I couldn't stop thinking about. "People hold all their emotions in their hips and shoulders...so when you do a yoga posture that helps to release these joints you may feel you want to smile, laugh, or even cry." I thought what he said really hit home...after he said that I started to laugh to myself...I know I am strange. But what else I thought was super interesting is I have the tightest hips...and in the early stages of practicing Yoga all the instructors would always tell me to release my shoulders more. Does this all mean I have too much emotion that I am holding back? Hmmph? I consider myself to be an open book most of the times, I tell it like it is, and tend not to hold back (when appropriate). So what am I holding back? I have no idea!! ha!!
Happy Mother's Day mom! and to all the mother's out there, grandmothers, new mothers, and mothers to be! You can definitely (I spelt it right!) tell it's mothers day...traffic into Oakville is nutso and flower shops are a buzzing! May everyone have an amazing day! We're off to Starbucks! Where else would we go? :)
ps. Sometimes life throws you curve balls, and its the decisions you make and how you deal with the decisions that make all the difference. Life never has a clear path, and it never happens as planned! xo
pps. Tonight we are all having din din together...can't wait until June 15th when we (I) will be complete!

05.06.07

You think happy thoughts and it all will work out. Heather and I had planned a trip to NY (I don't like saying Buffalo) earlier this week, and it almost didn't end up happening....but 10am this morning we headed out on the open road. First stop: Tar-get! Now for all of you out there, the changing room is a room where silence is preferred or very quietly saying "What do you think?" It is not, I repeat NOT a room where people should be speaking in their outside voices and annoying us quiet folk who just want some peace and quiet and who enjoy shopping as a calming hobby. Heather and I both were giving each other bug eyes...are these people for real? We finally made it out of the change room with very little patience left and headed to the shoe, home, fitness, and stationary section of the store. We first had to step aside for a time out to take some deep breaths! Aaaah. Thank goodness for Yoga...aaaah (aaah = deep sighs). Tar-get of course let us walk away with some sweet finds, but I was hoping for some more gems. Ah well. Next stop the Galleria and Fashion Outlet...a couple finds, but I think our speed walking made us miss some things ;) ha!

Tonight was the season finale of the Amazing Race All Stars. My 2nd favourite show!...and even though I wanted Dustin and Kandice to win (Beauty Queens), I shedded a couple tears for Eric and Danielle when they came running to the finish line. I just think it would be such an amazing experience to race around the world challenging yourself to the fullest. I am going to look into it for the next season...I wonder if Canadians can participate?

Where in the world is Matt Lauer?

I am a huge Today Show fan! I wake up each morning punch in 280 and start my day listening to Matt Lauer, Meredith Vieira, Al Roker and Ann Curry. They are always the ones who keep me up to date with what is going on in the world, but also to learn about tips and tricks of life (health, happiness, travelling, etc). A week ago or maybe a couple weeks ago they started a segment on the show called "Where in the world is Matt Lauer" (if you know the tune, please sing along) I always look forward to each morning to learn about where Matt goes next. So far he has chosen Galway Ireland and Capetown South Africa along with many others. I get text messages from my mom some mornings telling me where Matt is (even though I too am tuned in)...and after watching where he is it makes me realize how lucky I am to have travelled to these amazing places...especially to Galway and Capetown in the same year (my favourite places in the world)! We all should be so lucky! However I feel we all have the opportunities to go to far off places if we want to or not...sure it will mean you have to save up, and take time off work...but do it, DO IT NOW...life is just way too short to be saying, "maybe next year"....travelling to another part of the world is amazing, awesome, incredible, life changing, must be done, fabulous, like nothing else... (have I made my point?) GO!
ps. today has been a terrible god awful day...and I am thinking good thoughts that it wont be tomorrow...will fill you in another time. I am going to do some yoga now, I think I need some time out from my thoughts and from work!!!
pps. for you bloggers out there...is this "word verification" system not annoying?
ppps. Happy 21st Birthday Steph!

Repeat Entry

It's a crazy thing when you watch a show and you think "my gosh" was that written about my life? or created to make me question things? Where is this miracle writer, I need to discuss!
Sex and the City will go down in my books as the greatest form of therapy and an amazing way to escape. For we can all learn from Carrie, Miranda, Samantha and Charlotte's lives and gain insight as to what they are going through and learn from their decisions...
I know I know it's fiction, but there is real life to each episode.
**for those of you who aren't yet watcher's even though I feel I have preached enough, I want to stress it is not about the title but rather the story lines and the life behind each character!

That's the thing about needs, sometimes when you get them met, you dont need them anymore. ~ Carrie Bradshaw
