holiday season is here

This weekend officially marked the start of the holiday season...I think we did almost everything one can do to kick off the Christmas season.
Kick off # 1: Put up the Carriere/Bryce Christmas tree and stockings on the fire place...sigh!
Kick off #2: Tree lighting in downtown Oakville on Friday evening with the Bryce clan followed by a delish smorgishboard meal with a cousin representation from all of my Dad's siblings (Heather/Uncle Bill - Sara/Aunty Mariyln - Grahm/Aunty Katie and of course Jodie and I / Bobby B). It was nice to all be together though some cousins were dearly missed!
Kick off #3: The Oakville Santa's Claus parade with Elecia's family and ours on Saturday morning - first starting with an early morning run of the o-town
Kick 0ff #4: Christmas shopping on Bloor - took advantage of 40% off at the GAP and now we have our first wrapped present under our tree.
Kick off #5: Woke up to some Christmas music...to then stroll down to Bloor to watch our second Santa's Claus Parade..though this time we only stayed until our Christmas Starbucks were finished! sigh! I just love love love this time of year!
ps. On December 28th Chris, Eric, Anna and I are making our way to Aspen so I can carve up the hills on my new board!! holla! xoxo cc!

November 17th

As I have been trying to be super organized these past couple weeks I have neglected some of my cherished books....especially Journey to the Heart. I decided to take it out of the bed side table and read today's excerpt. Here is what November 17th is all about...

Discover the Power of Loving Yourself
Sometimes it's hard to trust life with all its sudden twists, turns, and storms. When something unexpected or painful happens, when we become blocked or frustrated, when life takes a different course than what we hoped it would, it's easy to stop trusting the flow of our lives. I didn't ask for this. It's not fair. I don't want this, we think. This road isn't leading anywhere, at least no where I want to go. Often, when we feel life has turned on us, we respond by turning on ourselves. But turning on ourselves doesn't help. In fact, it can compound the situation. It can prevent us from hearing and acting on the very guidance that will lead us through, get us through, and take us to the next place. It can prevent us from hearing our heart.
Keep loving yourself, and taking care of yourself, no matter what - through the storms, the twists, the turns, and the blocks. Take a moment, breathe deeps, restore yourself to that sacred place of self-love and self-responsibility. Feel all your feelings. Then let them go. Love yourself until you can hear your heart and what it tells you to do. Love yourself until you find the courage to act on that guidance.
Loving yourself is a powerful tool, to powerful force for change. It can reconnect you to creativity, to universal love, to the best possible flow of events within your life. It can and will reconnect you to life's magic.
There is a trustworthy road through whatever life brings.
Loving yourself will help you find it.

c money

long over due post! it's hard to sit at a computer these days :( anywho I just wanted to send a shout out...on November 7th the man of my life celebrated his birthday! We all went to the Buffalo Bills game at the Rogers Centre to sit in amazing seats at the end zone and of course we celebrated his day with some amazing people. Chris....here's to many more birthdays with smiles and laughter! I love you! xo
To continue with the celebrations...we made our way to Ottawa to eat some cake with the Carriere's. Before our cake however, Chris and I decided to go to Le Nordik (A Scandanavian Spa) in Quebec near the Gatineau's. It was awsome! A little bit over the top busy...but we spent the day relaxing in hot tubs, cold tubs, sauna's, steam rooms to finish it off with a 90 minute hot stone massage that was to die for! We came out of there super relaxed - it was hard to keep our eyes open. Clearly it was much over due! Totally recommend the visit! ps. the Christmas tree is sitting in the family room waiting to be put up and decorated! holla! I love this time of year!
